Summary

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board's Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.

About the Role


The graduate-level Intern will operate as a project coordinator and support the Division of Consumer and Community Affairs' Front Office (FO) in advancing the Division's mission to promote a fair and transparent financial services marketplace for all consumers. The FO is central to aligning the Division's work activities to its strategic goals and supporting a high performing workforce. It establishes and implements effective procedures and protocols and facilitates timely completion of key work activities by monitoring and reporting progress on achieving success measures and completing high quality deliverables.


The Intern will be under the supervision of the Deputy Director. They will perform various administrative tasks to help communicate, manage, and plan how to prioritize work activities and keep them on schedule. The Intern may also support the collection, analysis, and reporting of risk and risk mitigation opportunities for various work activities, as well as other related tasks as assigned. They must follow data quality best practices and are expected to present their work to various audiences in the Division.


Requirements


Suggested Major/Education: Must be a graduate student pursuing a graduate degree in an business management, finance, accounting, computer science, or other relevant fields graduating in December 2025 or later

  • Requires knowledge of fundamental project management principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain good business relationships; strong organizational and time manage ment skills; keen ability to prioritize work based on strategic plans and protocols; high attention to detail; able to work effectively with a team and as an individual b ased on business needs.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams; experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools is a plus.

Anticipated Work Hours: During the summer, 40 hours per week; during the school semester, 15-30 hours per week
