JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator/Database Administrator 

DEPARTMENT: Colleague Computing Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Colleague Computing Services

SCHEDULE: To be determined Hybrid schedule

COMPENSATION: Full-time, Exempt Position - $90,000-$110,000

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Under the supervision of the Director, Colleague Computing Services. Systems Administrator/Database Administrator is responsible for providing systems administration of Windows servers, MS-SQL database management, and administration of the Ellucian Colleague ERP and related Ellucian applications. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and skills for administering multiple mission-critical application servers running various operating systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support applications by deploying, configuring, and maintaining different Ellucian applications with a high level of focus on Colleague ERP, Self Service, Colleague API, and Ellucian tenant products: Ethos, Insights, etc. 
• Perform technical tasks related to configuration, installation, and maintenance of systems software and hardware products for the department.
• Conduct systems monitoring, develop and implement procedures to optimize performance and ensure systems security. 
• Troubleshoot operating system, database, and applications problems, recommending improvements, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Make recommendations and perform upgrades to systems and applications Systems Administrator/Database Admin Based on changes in usage, release updates, and new technologies.
• Monitor and ensure ERP database data integrity and security.
• Prepare and execute routine activities on the systems including audit and backups.
• Prepare scripts for automation of periodic job scheduling.
• Set up and maintain user accounts and security access controls.
• Provide technical support to end users responding to tickets or help requests quickly and effectively.
• Create and maintain full documentation of all CCS systems, applications, and security configurations.
• Coordinate with other members of the technology team to implement key projects, and integrate enterprise-class applications and security systems across multiple platforms.
• Perform other job-related duties as outlined by the Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field plus 3 years of work related experience or a combination of combination of work experience and education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in higher education environments
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server DBA certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with Ellucian products: Colleague ERP, Self Service, Colleague API, preferred
• Expertise in IIS, Tomcat, VMWare, Synoptix, and VMWare certification is a plus.
• Fluency in Powershell scripting, MSSQL 
• Experience installing and troubleshooting various types of software.
• Experience in analyzing processes, determining optimal solutions, testing, and writing documentation.

• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
• Ability to resolve problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgment.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other employees and the public

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR WORKING CONDITIONS:

• To be determined Hybrid schedule, depending on business needs may be required to work onsite. 
• Working hours may change according to departmental needs. Work hours may include after-hours, evenings, holidays, and weekend work
• While working remotely, will be required to maintain the same hours of work as would be performed in the office; follow the department's procedures in completing assigned job tasks; and be available during the employee's working hours via the department-established communication methods (i.e. Google chat, Slack, phone, etc.)
• The position may require bending, lifting, carrying, or the use of a force equal to lifting up to 10 lbs
