Job Description
Madison Development Company LLC. maintenance team is looking for a maintenance technician with previous experience in maintenance related tasks and painting in the multi-family housing industry. This person must create a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all residents and their visitors.
POSITION SUMMARY Performs repairs and upgrades that keep the interior and exterior of a property in top-notch condition. Keeps grounds clean and maintained, completes work orders, and prepares units for future residents. Maintenance does not live on property.
JOB REQUIREMENTS • Must have own hand tools. • Must have own dependable transportation with proper auto insurance to travel between properties located in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Completes all maintenance and repairs in a timely, cost-effective manner, and according to all specifications. • Ability to make minor electrical repairs, for example replacement of fuses, breakers, receptacles, lights, ceiling fans. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, ability to use a multimeter, to check electrical issues. • Basic plumbing skills, faucet repair replacement, snaking of drains and toilet maintenance. • Painting Tasks; plaster, repair, priming, painting, water based and oil base paints as the task requires.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent. • 2 years previous experience in apartment maintenance. • Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance skills including basic competence in performing these skills. • Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. • Must complete drug test and background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. • Ability to work off ladders. • Ability to lift and/or move 50+ lbs. • May need to stand for long periods of time. • Must have the ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Able to work in confined spaces, variety of weather conditions and unclean environments
