Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Location: Holly, MI

Industry: Automation and Conveyor Manufacturing

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 annually

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Job Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and procedures in alignment with OSHA regulations and company policies. The Safety Coordinator will monitor safety practices, conduct training, perform audits, and address safety concerns proactively to reduce risks and ensure a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs and policies to comply with OSHA standards and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Organize and lead safety training sessions for employees to ensure understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain records of safety training, incidents, and OSHA compliance documentation.
  • Work closely with management to ensure safety policies are enforced and safety goals are met.
  • Promote and support a culture of safety through continuous communication, employee engagement, and safety campaigns.
  • Respond to safety-related inquiries and provide support in the resolution of safety concerns.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Emergency Response Plans and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to safety regulations and best practices within the manufacturing and automation industries.
  • Maintain safety equipment and ensure proper use and maintenance by employees.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in safety coordination or safety management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform safety inspections, audits, and accident investigations.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve safety objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive safety issues with discretion.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the manufacturing facility during inspections.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by safety regulations.
