Job Description

Economic Empowerment Program:
IRC'sresettlement model focuses on the self-sufficiency of our refugee clients. OurEmployment Services program guides clients on their path to economicself-sufficiency through job application support, job search assistance, resumebuilding, job readiness training, and career coaching.

Interns Responsibilities :
Theintern's primary point of contact will be the Employment Program Coordinatorand other caseworkers.
Internscan expect to support refugee clients' self-sufficiency and employment goalsthrough resume building, providing job readiness training classes, leadingpublic transportation orientations, and assisting with job applications onbehalf of clients. Interns will also be responsible for accurately and promptlysubmitting case notes and file documentation detailing services they'veprovided.
Internswill have the opportunity to support clients directly in overcoming barriers toeconomic self-sufficiency. Interns will gain greater insight into theresettlement process for refugees in the Dallas area. IRC places a strong focuson hiring from our intern pool- if you are eager to break into social work,international relations or political science, or are looking for nonprofitexperience, this internship is for you.

This is an unpaid position

Requirements
Must be able to come into the Dallasoffice at least 15 hours a week between 8:30 am-4:30 pm M-F. Must be willing touse personal vehicle to drive clients to job interviews if needed- internsdo qualify for paid mileage reimbursement.
