Role Title: Health Informatics Specialist / Clinical Application Coordinator (HIS/CAC)

Our team is looking to staff a Health Informatics Specialist/Clinical Application Coordinator (HIS/CAC) role on a sold and funded VHA project supporting the OCI with an immediate start date. Candidates with U.S. citizenship required, and VA access (PIV) preferred.



PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project supports several applied informatics efforts within the OCI, including Clinical Initial Operating Capability (CIOC) responsibilities, Health Information Technology Team (HITT) responsibilities, and the Integrated Health Practice Program. This high impact work enables VHA to meet its clinical mission to improve the safety, quality, efficiency, and experience of VA healthcare through an enterprise-wide single standard and experience of care, related to VHA's electronic health record modernization (EHRM) efforts.


Our team works with a passionate and involved client to improve Veteran care, and the HIS/CAC candidate will support the build, maintenance, troubleshooting, and education of VHA's legacy system (VistA/CPRS) configuration services.



POSITION DESCRIPTION
The HIS/CAC candidate should have a deep knowledge of VistA/CPRS functionality and will be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing the VistA and CPRS systems - executing all aspects of product delivery and design solutions, establishing test plans and scripts, conducting assessments, performing data analysis, creating reports, communicating findings, and making design and functionality recommendations for new or modified clinical workflows. We are seeking an individual with the following skillset:

• Experience with the VA Providing Informatics Support: Intimate technical understanding and expertise of VistA and CPRS, recent experience as a HIS/CAC or 10+ years' experience with these systems is strongly preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Ability to demonstrate specific technical understanding of consults, clinical procedures and orders, text integration utilities (TIU), and reminder dialogs - define functionality; explain steps to build/how to use, maintain, and troubleshoot; and demonstrate understanding of technical hierarchy.
• Expert in Development and Implementation of Health Informatics Solutions and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Tools: Experience managing VistA packages of varying clinical specialty, configuring and operating CPRS, developing test plans for specific CDS tools, and extracting/analyzing data from VistA/CPRS.
• Communication and Advisory: Experience updating and installing patches in virtual environments and ability to coach teammates in this capacity as well as advise on informatics expertise mentioned above
