What will you do in this job?:The Front Desk Manager oversees and is responsible for the daily operations of the Front Desk (including Night Audit and Reservations), Tour Desk and Guest Services. The Front Desk Manager works closely with the staff in an efficient, courteous and dedicated manner to ensure that the guest’s expectations are exceeded. Provides quality services and enhances the guest experience while following the company and Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge’s policies. Arrive to work on time, ready to work, dressed in clean business casual attire, with a neat and clean appearance Oversee daily operations of Front Desk & Guest Services Staff Train staff to ensure high level of customer service and efficiency Handle complaints with a high level of efficiency and in the best interest of the guest Develop and document the Front Desk training program to ensure consistency of procedures Maintain safety and security measures within the department for guests, employees and property Attend department manager meetings Maximize staffing, hour and wage levels for Front Desk & Guest Services employees Review needs and position openings, working with Assistant General Manager to fill as needed What skills and experience do you need for this job?:3-5 years Front Desk experience in a hotel Must be familiar with all phases of Front Desk, Tour Desk, Guest Service, and shuttle operations Be computer literate and enjoy dealing with people Knowledge of basic accounting procedures for use in training for Night Audit position Ability to perform cash handling problems Possess strong leadership skills to manage and train staff appropriately in hospitality Good communication skills are essential Possess a consistent and even personality, be well-groomed in appropriate attire Able to work well under pressure, diffuse stressful situations for employees and guests alike Strong forecasting skills What will your work environment be like?:Beautiful.
