Reports to: APIA Family Advocacy Center Program Coordinator- Anchorage Work Schedule: Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week Qualifications: Preferred: A bachelor’s degree in human services or a similar field (social work, criminal justice, public administration, or counseling) related to the mission of a CAC is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Be willing to participate in education and training if no degree is in place at the time of the interview. Experience: Two (2) years related experience in providing services for children and families. Must: Demonstrate the ability to work well with people and an understanding of social and cultural needs, interacting positively with individuals from various backgrounds. Demonstrate the ability to be non-judgmental and to work with families in crisis. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Be able to develop community partnerships to benefit clients and the Family Advocacy Center program services. Have the ability to develop and provide training to staff and community members and conduct community outreach. Possess a high level of computer skills. Be willing and able to travel extensively. Demonstrate dependability, maturity, and good judgment in performance of duties. Be able to work independently with little supervision as a vital and productive team member. Be innovative, creative, and positive. Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Must provide documentation of current TB test and Hepatitis screening/vaccination status; pre-employment physical examination; criminal history background clearance and be willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification. Position is open until filled. Relocation and housing not included. Native preference will be given, depending on experience.
