Mechanical Design Manager/Dept. Head

On-Site Connecticut

Salary: $120,000-$160,000

Your New Role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and providing engineering solutions for projects within an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineering consultancy in Connecticut. A staple of the local engineering community, this company does school, municipal, government, and healthcare projects, among a mix of commercial and residential projects. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with other Senior Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to execute tasks related to mechanical design.

• Mid-Sized Company: Work directly with Owning Principal Engineers
• Lucrative Healthcare/Hospital Projects
• 80% repeat clients
• Manage Business Decisions: Be directly involved in growth plans
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: Help shape the company's direction as we double in size.
• Leadership Role: Lead a team of 3-4 mechanical engineers.
• Project Management: Oversee healthcare project flow, QA/QC on design, and client meetings.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Relevant experience in mechanical design for MEP systems.
• Experience People Managing a Team of Design Engineers
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• Strong technical proficiency, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
